CRUNCHERS SANS FRONTIERES Launches First Ever Team Relay Challenge

An international team of crunchers is launching a unique new type of team challenge. Learn more about the Athena Trophy, created by CRUNCHERS SANS FRONTIERES, in this article.

Are you the captain of a World Community Grid team, or a member of an active team? CRUNCHERS SANS FRONTIERES, a France-based team that includes members from various parts of the world, has created a new type of challenge to get teams excited about donating more computing power to their favorite World Community Grid projects.

The Athena Trophy challenge will run from March 18 through April 7. Unlike most other team challenges, the Athena Trophy requires teams to join forces and complete the challenge as a relay, with one team competing for one week, then handing the virtual baton to a new team the following week.

Teams are invited to declare their intent to join by March 10. Here's how team captains can submit their teams to enter:

1. Find two other World Community Grid teams who will agree to "run the relay" with your team.
2. Create a name for your pooled group of three teams.
3. Plan which team will "run" which week of the virtual relay.
4. Declare your intent to register in the Athena Trophy thread in the World Community Grid forum. (You can ask questions in this thread as well.)

Good luck to all teams and crunchers who join, and thanks to all of you for your support!
